The mission of the Montgomery ISD Library Program is to ensure that students and staff are lifelong learners who can access, evaluate, and use information in both print and digital forms, as well as engage in reading for discovery and personal enjoyment. Our goal is to teach, inspire, and motivate all students to excel and empower them with the skills, content knowledge and expertise needed for this 21st century media culture.

Student Access to Library Materials
Parents are the primary decision makers regarding their student’s access to library material. The district encourages parental involvement in library acquisition, maintenance, and campus activities. Parents are encouraged to communicate with the campus librarian and their child’s teacher about special considerations regarding library materials self-selected by their student. A parent may submit to the district a list of library materials that their child may not be allowed to check out or otherwise access for use outside of the school library.
Click here for directions on how to use Destiny Parent Library Access.
The district will provide to parents a record of each time the parent’s child checks out a library material that includes the title, author, genre, and return date of the library material. This email will be sent to the email address on record in Skyward and is automatically created and sent through the Destiny program.
A parent may access the school’s library or any available online catalog by accessing the Destiny program for each campus. See link below:

Challenge of Library Material
The district welcomes student and parent feedback on library materials and services. Parents may contact the campus librarian with questions or comments about their child’s campus library. A district employee, parent, or person residing in the district may submit a written challenge to the inclusion of any library material in the catalog of the school library by submitting this form: Library Material Challenge.
Additional questions about district processes regarding library material and services may be directed to the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, 936-276-2160.
