In order to improve customer service, beginning January 2023 Montgomery ISD will be changing the MISD School Bus Route numbers from 2 to 4 digits. This change reflects the district utilizing two transportation centers and will help parents and schools identify where the routes are dispatched:
- Routes starting with 1000 are buses dispatched out of the Liberty Transportation Center.
- Routes starting with 2000 are buses dispatched out of the Lone Star Transportation Center.
We are not renumbering the routes, just adding 2 additional digits. For example: Route 51 will become Route 2051, indicating dispatch from the Lone Star Transportation Center. Route 10 will become Route 1010, indicating dispatch from the Liberty Transportation Center.
While the numbers on the sides of the buses, in Skyward, and the Ride 360 app will be updated, district employees will still be able to recognize the original route numbers. Referring to the route with the new number simply provides information about which Transportation Center the bus originates from and where you would need to go to retrieve a forgotten item like a phone or a backpack. Please always call first to confirm we have any missing items and we will be happy to assist you accordingly.
