The Montgomery ISD Long Range Planning Committee was established in the spring of 2025 to assess the capital and facility needs of the district. The committee met multiple times throughout 2025 to review demographic studies, evaluate the capacity and structural needs of MISD facilities, and analyze how growth in various areas of the district was impacting specific campuses.
The purpose of the committee was not to recommend a bond election, but rather to develop fiscally responsible, long-term considerations and recommendations for facility use and planning and for maximizing capacity at campuses.
The committee was composed of nearly 40 members, including representatives from all 12 MISD campuses and various departments, along with parents, business and community leaders, and MISD graduates.
In September 2025, members of the committee presented a summary document, called the Premier Roadmap (see below), to the MISD Board of Trustees. The Premier Roadmap is a living document that outlines the committee’s collective recommendations and priorities to guide Montgomery ISD’s planning for the future. It summarized the areas where the committee found the greatest need and detailed strategies they supported for managing growth, optimizing existing facilities, and ensuring the district can continue providing high-quality learning environments. The document serves as a guide for responsible, long-term decision-making—reflecting the values and input of stakeholders from across the district.
