The Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees held a regularly scheduled meeting tonight and unanimously agreed to add 10 COVID leave days for all employees.
The decision was made to adjust the previously approved 5 days of extra Covid leave, passed earlier in August. The original approval was just allocated for the individual staff member testing positive.
The new approval now allows staff to use their 10 days when they themselves test positive, or if a person in their household tests positive. Montgomery ISD was the first district in the area to approve such a generous leave, focusing first on the safety of our students and staff and wanting to reduce any anxiety the staff may have when they are met with the decision to stay home or come to work.
