Frequently asked Questions

How can I update my child’s transportation address?

Student information is updated nightly from the district’s Skyward system.  The transportation department cannot change addresses.  You can contact your child’s school and they will help you update your address.  Please note that this process can take 2-3 business days before your new stop and route can be assigned.

How can I register my child for transportation?

It is not necessary to register for transportation.  All students in Montgomery ISD are assigned a bus stop and route.  Route information is available through the Traversa Rids 360 application.  The instructions for this application are available on our website (Find your Bus)

Can my child ride home on a friend's bus?

No. Due to our buses being full already and our growing district, students may only ride home on their assigned route each day. If an emergency arises, please reach out to the Director of Transportation.

How will I be notified of a change to my child's stop time, stop location or bus number?

If the change in time is less than five minutes, the driver will notify the students of the change. If there is a change in stop location or bus assignment, the Transportation Department will send written notification home with your student.  Additionally all route changes will be available through the Traversa Ride 360 application.

We are looking at houses can we see where the bus stops are?

No.  Route information is only available to the parents of students assigned to a bus stop and route.

Can I have a stop closer to my house?

We are committed to providing transportation services to all the children of the district who need transportation services.  To accomplish this we need ask our families to meet the bus at designated stop location.  The stops are designed to be centrally located at remain from year to year.  Adding stops also add time and in order to get all of our kids to school on-time the number of stops in a given area or community will be limited to what is needed to make sure everyone arrives to school on-time.
