Montgomery ISD is committed to providing a safe environment for all of our students, staff members and visitors. As such, MISD has a multi hazard emergency plan in place to address school safety.
In the continued effort to make our campuses safe and secure, Montgomery ISD has implemented the following:
- Montgomery ISD Police Department has a police officer on staff at each MISD campus
- Campus security cameras at all entrance and exits and in common areas
- School bus cameras
- Access controlled doors and vestibules at each campus entrance
- Vape Detection in all high school bathrooms
- Drug detection dog searches
- Updated campus radio systems
- High School parking lot monitors
- Comprehensive Emergency Operations planning
- Regular Emergency Drills
- V-soft monitoring
- Watch Dog Program at each elementary campus
- Stop the Prop stickers on all exit doors to remind students and staff of the need to keep all exterior doors closed and locked at all times
- SEE Something, SAY Something through Quick Tips for all members of the school and community to share any concern at any time.
- RAVE app! Montgomery ISD, in partnership with Montgomery County 911, has implemented this panic alert system, providing a one-touch communication to campuses, employees, 911 and first responders in the event of an emergency.
CONDUCT ON SCHOOL PREMISES:
The District has the right to refuse entry onto school or District grounds to persons who do not have legitimate business at the school or District facility. The District may also eject an individual if he/she refuses to leave peaceably and (1) the individual poses a substantial risk of harm to any person; or (2) the individual behaves in a manner inappropriate for the school setting after having received a verbal or written warning to cease the inappropriate behavior.
Any person ejected or excluded from District property may appeal this decision through the local grievance policies;

If you SEE something, SAY Something! School safety is everyone’s responsibility – staff, students, parents and the entire community. Please report any safety concerns you may have to your school principal or campus police officer.
