Steps to Eliminate Problem Situations

The steps 1-4 shown below are the quickest and best methods for reaching satisfactory solutions. Please use them should you ever encounter a situation in Montgomery ISD which is a concern to you.

Montgomery ISD is committed to addressing concerns in a respectful, solution-focused manner. Board Policy FNG outlines the process for community members to bring forward complaints or concerns.

Before filing a formal complaint, individuals are encouraged to work directly with the appropriate administrator to seek a resolution. To support this process, please follow these steps when seeking a remedy for an issue or concern:

  1. Identify the Appropriate Staff Member
Begin by contacting the staff member most directly involved with the issue. Many concerns can be resolved at the classroom or campus level.
  2. Contact the Campus or Department Administrator
If the issue is not resolved, contact the principal or department supervisor. They can provide further clarification, support, or solutions.
  3. Reach Out to District Administration
For unresolved matters at the campus or department level, contact the appropriate district-level administrator for additional review.
  4. Submit a Formal Complaint (If Needed)
If the concern is still unresolved after all prior steps, you may file a formal complaint using the FNG (Local) procedures. Forms and information are available through the district’s administrative offices or website.

Our goal is to partner with families and community members to resolve concerns efficiently and respectfully, at the level closest to the issue whenever possible.

After following the steps outlined above, if your concern or complaint has not been resolved, complete the appropriate formal grievance document below.
