As is true for all school districts in Texas, Montgomery ISD is forced by the actions of the State Legislature to make significant cuts to their 2011/2012 annual operating budget. One of the cuts for MISD is the consolidation of school bus stops saving approximately $225,000.
With these changes elementary, intermediate, middle school students will be required to walk further to their bus stops, but not over 1/2 mile. Similarly, junior high and high school students will walk further, but not over 3/4 mile.
In light of these changes, MISD has implemented a computerized routing program using infofinderi.com that will allow parents and guardians to look up their respective address and instantly get the bus route number, stop location and AM pick-up times and PM drop-off times.
The school district asks that parents and guardians keep in mind that bus routing is a continuous process and the routes are being fine tuned throughout the summer as well as the school year. It is recommended that parents and guardians recheck the site just prior to school starting to confirm the route number, stop location and times.
