Qualifications of Substitutes
- Substitute Teacher:
- College transcripts showing a minimum of 50 college hours from an accredited school
- Teaching certificate (if applicable)
- Substitute Aide:
- High School diploma, GED, or college transcript showing college hours
- Substitute Nurse:
- College transcript showing a minimum of 50 college hours from an accredited school
- Texas RN License

Substitute Handbook
Additional Information
Substitute employees are subject to fingerprinting in accordance with Senate Bill 9. The fingerprinting agency charges approximately $50.00 for the appointment. If you are invited to become a substitute for MISD and you have not been fingerprinted with the TEA clearinghouse, MISD will email the information for this process.
