| Stewart Creek's pre-kindergarten program is a child centered activity-based program. Our program, in combination with state curriculum guidelines, supports effective teaching practices that lead to the growth in children's intellectual and social development for their future academic success. Pre-K is a half-day program. Students qualify by family income and level of English proficiency. |

| Stewart Creek Elementary Kindergarten teaches an integrated curriculum using state adopted materials which are standardized to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. (TEKS) All learning styles are addressed in each classroom using various techniques geared to meet the needs of each individual child. Through differentiation of instruction, teamwork, and experience, SCE Kindergarten is proud to be forming the foundation for a successful learner. |

| First graders at Stewart Creek begin a journey into life-long learning. They experience a world filled with reading, writing, math and technology. First grade teachers provide a balanced reading program with instruction in phonological awareness, Spalding Phonics, guided reading, spelling, grammar and writing. First graders have an active role in applying basic skills in real life experiences. We believe that all students are unique and learn differently, therefore we try to meet the needs of every child. |

| Second Grade is an exciting time for approximately 150 students at Stewart Creek Elementary! Our academic program is designed to follow the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Second Grade's academic program includes a skill based Language Arts program with varied literature experiences. Our student's Math program includes Saxon math with an emphasis on problem solving using real world activities The goal for our dedicated Second Grade team is for students to become fluent readers and independent learners. |

All of the third grade teachers are happy and excited to be at Stewart Creek Elementary School. As a team, we have joined hands to make each child full of enthusiasm about learning. The teachers would like to extend their gratitude to all of our parent volunteers that help make learning fun.
An in-depth word study and the incorporation of story elements to strengthen comprehension skills is the foundation of our reading curriculum. Our math program focuses on number concepts and making math meaningful in everyday life. We are committed to helping each child become a life long learner and adding a step on their ladder to success. |

Special Classes
| Music |
Music is an important part of your child's day at Stewart Creek Elementary. The children are encouraged to learn musical concepts through the practical experiences of singing, playing instruments, moving and directed listening. A strong focus is placed on the roles music and movement play in cognitive development, symbolization, language development, and imaginative thinking. Music is a fun way to stimulate and inspire young minds. |
| Physical Education |
P.E. is the place to be! Our program at Stewart Creek Elementary for kindergarten through third grade consists of a variety of activities. Included in the curriculum is movement exploration, ball handling skills, rhythms, and lifetime games and sports. The emphasis is "Fun and Fitness" along with good sportsmanship in a positive and safe environment. |
| Computer Lab |
The computer lab is open to all kindergarten, first, second, and third grade students. The students come to the lab once every other week. In class they learn how to use a mouse and keyboard. The children will also be learning keyboarding skills the second semester of school. |
| Art |
The SCE Art Department is very excited to be able to offer such a great program to our students. They are experiencing tempera paints, watercolors, crayons,clay, and so many more exciting Art Forms. Students are encouraged to use their creativity to the best of their ability. |
