MISD Celebrates the First Group of Montgomery Master Teachers

Master Teachers

On November 1, 2018, a celebration was held for the program completion of the first group of Montgomery Master Teachers. This group of 51 Montgomery Independent School District K-12 teachers completed professional development in the areas of content, pedagogy, and technology over a two-year period. They attended trainings, watched webinars, participated in a book study, shared and explored new ideas and tried new teaching strategies in their classrooms. The final stage was an observation cycle where participants were able to be observed and observe their peers. There are great teachers in MISD and they were able to learn so much from each other.
Melinda Wilson, a fourth grade teacher at Stewart Creek Elementary and program participant said,” I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the MMT initial program! We have learned so many enrichment tools to enhance the learning experiences of our students! Was it a lot of work? Absolutely, but the work was well worth it. Iron sharpens iron and working with the cohort has made me a stronger teacher, and deepened my connections with my fellow teachers across the district! Thank you Amy Busby and MISD for your vision for the students and staff in Montgomery!”
