MHS Anglers Named Bass Association Regional Champs

On Friday, April 14th, the Montgomery High School Angler’s Club was named the Texas High School Bass Association’s South Division Conference Champions for the third year in a row!

Picking up individual awards on Friday were Mason Hoke and Weston Stevens who were named the Anglers of the Year for the 2016-17 season. Their team accrued more points than any other team a conference of over 200 teams. Also receiving individual awards were the teams of Derek Pietsch and Trey Dawson who came in third place and the team of Dylan Winders and Mason McQuerry in fifth.

During Saturday’s Regional Championship, the Bears bested 40 other High Schools at Lake Sam Rayburn. The Bears top three teams were able to amass almost 60 pounds of Bass for 3 five fish limits. This total weight outscored second place finishers Cy-Woods by over 11 pounds!
