MES recently participated in "Hats Off" Day for Home for Troops, an organization that builds homes for wounded troops returning from war. Students at MES donated a $1 to be able to wear a hat to school for a day. The school raised over $700, which will be given to Home for Troops to help furnish a home they are building for Marine Cpl. Daniel Peterson, who is still in the hospital from losing both of his legs in Afghanistan. A group of scouts (10 Magnolia first graders) created this fundraiser to furnish the home being built in Tomball for Cpl. Peterson, and MES was proud to participate - "Hats Off to Marine Cpl. Peterson!!!"
