MONTGOMERY MIDDLE SCHOOL IS READY FOR THE TAKS! This week, the students at Montgomery Middle School will have the opportunity to prove that they have mastered the required 6th grade curriculum and are ready to move on to Montgomery Junior High. The Math portion of the test will be administered Tuesday, April 17th and the Reading portion will be administered on Wednesday, April 18th. Here are a few suggestions that will help your child be as successful as possible: · Help your child arrive at school on time. · Please do not schedule doctor appointments during the testing days. · See that your child eats a good breakfast. · Help insure your child gets a good night’s sleep the night before and comes to school rested and relaxed. · Treat these tests very seriously. The outcome of the TAKS test can affect the courses that your child will get to take in Junior High. · Encourage your child to follow the strategies they have been taught. · The TAKS is not a timed test. Please remind your child to not rush through the test. · Encourage your child to do their very best. Also, please remind them that no one test can measure what a great kid he or she is. Thank you so much for your help. Sheryl Moore FYI: TAKS Test
We will be providing a free breakfast for every child here at MMS on both test days. If you have any questions, please contact the school at (936) 597-7070. MISD allows students to continue testing beyond the regular hours of the school day. We are allowing our students to test as late as 5:00 pm on both test days. If your child needs to test later than the regular hours of the school day, a parent/guardian will be contacted before the end of the school day to ask if this is permissible and to coordinate transportation.
