My name is Jana Bethel and I am the librarian at MES.  Prior to becoming a librarian, I taught 4th grade language arts and gifted and talented.  I have been in education for ten years and have been the librarian at MES for six years.  The Montgomery Elementary School library is an exciting place to be!  Our collection grows and changes constantly so our students always have a variety of quality books to read.  We encourage our students to visit the library regularly and to share their love of reading with their friends and family!  During the 2007-2008 school year, all classes will visit the library on a regular basis for scheduled lessons.  During this time, students will learn how to use the resources available in our library.  Also, I will share some of my favorite books with the classes while reinforcing the curriculum presented by your child's classroom teacher.  We also have several special programs planned for our students to deepen their love and appreciation of literature.  If you would like to be a library volunteer or if you have any questions about our library, don't hesitate to contact me by email at jbethel@misd.org.
