Welcome to First Grade at M.E.S.!

First graders at Montgomery Elementary begin a journey into life-long learning. They experience a world filled with reading, writing, math and technology.  First grade teachers provide a balanced reading program with instruction in phonological awareness, Spalding Phonics, guided reading, spelling, grammar and writing.   First graders have an active role in applying basic skills in real life experiences.  We believe that all students are unique and learn differently, therefore we try to meet the needs of every child.  The first grade teachers are proud of their contribution in making MISD a Texas Exemplary School District.
