Lone Star's Pre-Kindergarten program is a child-centered, activity-based program. Our program, in combination with state curriculum guidelines, supports effective teaching practices that lead to the growth in children's intellectual and social development for their future academic success. Pre-K is a half-day program. Students qualify by family income, military involvement and level of English proficiency.

Kindergarten at Lone Star Elementary is full of excited children who are eager to learn, and loving teachers who are eager to nurture them as they begin their life as “students.” We teach a strong academic, literature-enriched curriculum with an emphasis on basic early math and reading skills. Our teaching strategies, geared to meet all learning styles, are what have made our program so successful.

First Grade students at Lone Star begin a journey into life-long learning. They experience a world filled with reading, writing, math and technology. First Grade teachers provide a balanced reading program with instruction in phonological awareness, small group instruction, guided reading, spelling, grammar and writing. Students in First Grade have an active role in applying basic skills in real life experiences. We believe that all students are unique and learn differently; therefore, we try to meet the needs of every child.

All of the Third Grade teachers are happy and excited to be at Lone Star Elementary School. As a team, we have joined hands to make each child full of enthusiasm about learning. The teachers would like to extend their gratitude to all of our parent volunteers who help make learning fun.

An in-depth word study and the incorporation of story elements to strengthen comprehension skills are the foundation of our reading curriculum. Our math program focuses on number concepts and making math meaningful in everyday life. We are committed to helping each child become a life-long learner and to adding a step on their ladder to success.

In Social Studies, we learn amazing facts about our great state of Texas! Our town of Montgomery holds lots of history that you will enjoy. In Math and Science, we learn through songs, exploration, and experimentation.

Every day, we strive to make learning fun and meaningful . Our goal is to help prepare students for the next chapter in their education.
