School Health Advisory Council, 2009-2010
Montgomery ISD adopts all required physical activity policies and the complete Policy Manual may be found at www.tasb.org/policy/pol/private/170903. All requirements are implemented as required at the individual campuses by the Campus Administration.
The School Health Advisory Council meets at least four times a year and reviews agenda items and then makes recommendations to the District as required in the Texas Education Code 28.004(a). The areas the Council reviews and makes recommendations to the District can be found in Board Policy EHAA (LEGAL).

Montgomery ISD follows all of the guidelines listed in the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Public School Nutrition Policy manuals to ensure that campuses comply with vending machine and food service guidelines. Additional information can be located on the squaremeals.com website.
Each year the Montgomery ISD Board of Trustees adopts the Student Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct lists the District’s Authority and Jurisdiction, Standards for Student Conduct, Conduct Violations and violation consequences for the use of tobacco products as well as other areas. Parents receive the Student Code of Conduct either electronically or hard copy each year and students receive appropriate training in the Code of Conduct.
Conflict of Interest Questionnaire – Form CIQ
Effective January 1, 2006, Texas Local Government Code Chapter 176 requires all vendors or potential vendors of the District to fill out and file a form questionnaire developed by the State Ethics Commission. The form must be filed with the District.

This questionnaire must be filed no later than the seventh day after the date that the vendor (1) begins contract discussions or negotiations with the district; or (2) submits to the district an application, response to a request for proposals or bids, correspondence, or other writing related to a potential agreement with the District. It is a Class C misdemeanor to fail to file the conflict of interest questionnaire.
In accordance with Chapter 176 all questionnaires must be posted on the District's web site (below).

Notice of Parent/Student Rights Under Section 504
The Rehabilitation Act of 1973, commonly referred to as "Section 504," is a nondiscrimination statute enacted by the
United States Congress. The purpose of the Act is to prohibit discrimination and to assure that disabled students have
educational opportunities and benefits equal to those provided to nondisabled students.

Montgomery Independent School district offers career and technical education programs in Business, Agriculture, Family Consumer Sciences, Information Technology and Marketing. Admission to these programs is based on age appropriateness, prerequisites, and student requests.
It is the policy of Montgomery ISD not to discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender or disability in its vocational programs, services or activities required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, amended.
